50 th years anniversary of the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology

Wroclaw, 26-27 October, 2018

The Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining, and Geology of Wrocław University of Science and Technology begins celebrating its 50th anniversary. The year 2018 will be a time of remembrance of the history of the Faculty - from its beginnings at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and official establishment in 1968. We will look back and remember our professors, teachers, and graduates, and we will summarise half a century of the Faculty’s educational and research activity. The past 50 years have been rich in experiences in the areas of providing education to people to become mining and geology engineers as well as cooperation with industry, other universities, and mining companies from all around the world. The anniversary year will be an opportunity not only to exchange memories, keep traditions alive, and allow graduates to bond with one another, but also step into the years to come with plans for the development of the Faculty, which is now providing education to future specialists in the fields of mining, geology, and also geodesy.
The celebration of the anniversary will reach its pinnacle on October 26 and 27, 2018, when we’ll meet at the 9th.

Reunion of Graduates as per the programme given below:
- The ceremonial meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Faculty and the opening of the Reunion – October 16, 2018
- Graduates’ science and technology conference – October 26 and 27, 2018
- Meetings of specific years’ graduates at the Faculty seat October 26, 2018
- Reunion of Graduates – Beer Feast – October 26, 2018
- General Meeting of the Members of the Association of Graduates of the Faculty of Mining of WUST – October 27, 2018
- Graduates’ Ball – October 27/28, 2018.

The plans also include the publication of a 50th Anniversary Commemorative Book to be given to all reunion attendees.
