Changes to the Temporary Residence Permit Application Procedure – Effective April 27, 2026

As of April 27, 2026, following amendments to the Polish Act on Foreigners, applications for temporary residence permits must be submitted electronically through the MOS 2.0 system (Case Handling Module).

Applications submitted in person or by post will not be considered, except where a specific legal exception applies.

Register and log in to MOS 2.0

To submit an application:

1. Visit the MOS 2.0 website.

2. Register an individual user account.

3. Log in using login.gov.pl.

4. Make sure you have a trusted signature or a qualified electronic signature to sign your application.

Check whether you are eligible to apply

Before submitting your application:

• Make sure you are legally staying in Poland.

• Check whether you meet the conditions for applying for a temporary residence permit.

• Verify that there are no legal grounds preventing your application from being considered or your permit from being granted.

Applications generally cannot be submitted from outside Poland.

Obtain Attachment No. 5 from the university

International students applying for a temporary residence permit for the purpose of higher education must obtain Attachment No. 5, which replaces the previously required university certificate.

Procedure for obtaining Attachment No. 5

1. Start your temporary residence permit application in the MOS 2.0 system.

2. Complete the required personal and study-related information.

3. Enter the appropriate university email address, depending on when you started your studies:

   Students who started their studies on or after October 1, 2025:

   prodziekan.dydaktykaw6@pwr.edu.pl

   Students who started their studies before October 1, 2025:

   admission@pwr.edu.pl

4. The MOS system automatically forwards Attachment No. 5 to the university.

5. An authorized university employee completes the attachment and signs it electronically using a qualified electronic signature.

6. The completed attachment is made available through the MOS system.

7. Continue your application and submit it electronically with Attachment No. 5.

Important: Attachment No. 5 is completed electronically by the university. Students do not need to print the document or obtain a handwritten signature.

Prepare documents confirming sufficient financial resources

Students must demonstrate that they have sufficient financial resources to cover:

• Living expenses during their stay in Poland.

• Accommodation costs.

• Return travel to their country of origin or residence.

• Tuition fees, if applicable and not already paid.

The required amount depends on the student's individual circumstances and the relevant period.

Sign and submit your application

Before submitting your application:

1. Check that all information is accurate and complete.

2. Make sure Attachment No. 5 has been completed and electronically signed by the university.

3. Attach the other required supporting documents.

4. Sign and submit the application electronically through MOS 2.0.

5. Save the official confirmation of submission.

Important: Applications must be submitted during your legal stay in Poland and through the required electronic procedure, unless a statutory exception applies.
