Success of a Student from the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology at Wrocław University of Science and Technology

We are proud to announce that Łucja Wesołowska, a student of the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, has qualified for the 6th edition of the Academic National Team (NRA – Narodowa Reprezentacja Akademicka) programme. The initiative, implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, supports students in combining high-level sports careers with academic development.

In this year’s edition of the programme, representatives of 40 universities across Poland received support, including six students from Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Among them is Łucja Wesołowska, proudly representing our Faculty.

Łucja is a member of the Polish senior national archery team, holds a master-class sports qualification, and represents UKS Talent Wrocław. She belongs to the top national elite in archery. In 2025, she became the Polish Academic Champion, as well as the runner-up of the Polish Senior Championships in both the mixed team and individual events in the WA 1440 competition at a distance of 70 metres. At the 2025 Polish Senior Championships, she also placed 7th, confirming her consistent high-level performance.

She represented Poland at the 4th stage of the Senior Archery World Cup in Madrid and competed at the Rhine–Ruhr 2025 Summer Universiade, facing the world’s best athletes. In national competitions, she also achieved 4th place in the finals of the 2025 Polish Cup.

At the same time, Łucja is completing her Bachelor’s degree in Geoinformatics at the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology, successfully combining athletic precision, focus and determination with engineering accuracy and analytical thinking.
