Success of a Student of Wrocław University of Science and Technology in the Mining Knowledge Tournament
We are proud to announce the success of our student, Jacek Konefał, who was awarded third place in the Mining Knowledge Tournament held during the 35th edition of the Underground Mining School in Kraków.
This year’s competition brought together students from three leading Polish universities educating future professionals for the mining sector: AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Silesian University of Technology, and Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Participants were given 40 minutes to complete a comprehensive test covering mineral resources, mining engineering, and geology. The final ranking was exceptionally close, with podium positions determined by single-point differences.
Final Classification of the Tournament:
Marek Ćmok – Silesian University of Technology (23 points)
Mateusz Piotrowicz – AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków (22 points)
Jacek Konefał – Wrocław University of Science and Technology (21 points)
Particular significance attaches to the fact that this marks the second time Jacek Konefał has been named both a finalist and a laureate of this prestigious competition. This achievement attests to his consistency, extensive expertise, and sustained commitment to advancing his competencies in the field of mining engineering.
We also extend our congratulations to the other members of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology delegation—Marcin Dytko and Szymon Pasek—as well as to the team supervisor, Dr. Eng. Karolina Adach-Pawelus.
The success of our students reaffirms the high standard of education provided by our University and highlights the active engagement of our academic community in supporting the development of the mining sector.
