The Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PGI–NRI) and Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST) have signed an agreement on scientific and educational cooperation. The agreement provides for joint activities in the fields of geological and environmental research as well as education, aimed at advancing scientific knowledge and supporting economic development, while also enhancing the safety and sustainable development of the national raw materials sector.

The agreement was signed by Prof. Krzysztof Szamałek, Director of PGI–NRI, as well as Prof. Renata Krzyżyńska, Vice-Rector for Cooperation with the Environment, and Prof. Radosław Zimroz, Dean of the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology at WUST. The delegation from Wrocław University of Science and Technology was also accompanied by Prof. Robert Król, Head of the Department of Mining and the initiator of the agreement.

In addition to substantive discussions and formalities, we also had the opportunity to visit the laboratories of PGI–NRI, its remarkable library, and the mineral museum, as well as unique historical books on mining and geology with a history spanning several centuries.
