Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology

#W6IndustryConnect

Date: 25.05.2026

On May 28 at 11:00 AM, another meeting as part of the #W6IndustryConnect initiative will take place in room 2.10 of the L-2 building, organized by the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology at Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

The guests of the event will be representatives of Holcim:

  • Adrian Przybylski — Director of the Lubień Mine
  • Daria Bartela — Employer Branding Specialist

During the meeting, participants will learn about internship opportunities at the very heart of the mine — a place where they can observe the entire extraction cycle: from mining operations such as drilling and blasting works and raw material extraction, to processing and analysis of production processes.

Interns collaborate with mine supervision teams, taking part in machine operation recording and reporting, preparing production analyses, as well as activities related to occupational safety and preparation for HSMS audits. There is also an opportunity to engage in the work of the plant laboratory, allowing participants to gain even broader technological and organizational experience.

In addition, Daria Bartela will present Holcim’s talent program, internship opportunities, and career development paths within the company.

#W6IndustryConnect is an initiative created by Dr. Eng. Karolina Adach-Pawelus, Vice Dean for Education at the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, aimed at building lasting relationships between academia and modern industry.

The meetings organized within the series create a space for dialogue, exchange of experiences, and direct interaction between students and industry experts. It is a unique opportunity to learn about the realities of working in the sector, current technological trends, and the competencies sought by employers. The initiative supports conscious career planning, professional networking, and opens the way to internships, placements, and future cooperation with industry.

We invite all students interested in modern mining, the raw materials industry, and career development in the sector to participate. More information can be found on the Faculty’s #W6IndustryConnect page / Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology.

Recruitment for this year’s edition of summer internships and the Holcim NextGen Talent program has just started at Holcim.
